Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency and arrangements can be made ahead of your arrival.
If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment, do not hesitate to call immediately. If it is outside of normal business hours our answering service will put you in touch with PetsER located at 329 Tilghman Rd. #100, Salisbury, Maryland 21804. To contact PetsER directly you may call them at 410-543-8400. PetsER is open Monday through Thursday from 6pm to 8am. They are open 24 hours on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and all major holidays. For clients along the Delaware beaches you may prefer to be seen at Savannah Animal Hospital in Lewes, Delaware. Savannah is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are also available for urgent care during regular business hours when the condition is not life-threatening, but you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment. Our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you call, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on what time you should arrive in order to be seen.
We have cardiac consults available several times per year at our Cardiac Clinic with board certified cardiologist Dr. Michael S. Miller from Veterinary Secialty Center of Delaware. He offers initial screens for cardiac disease as well as follow up exams for those with known cardiac conditions. The doctors of Ocean View Animal Hospital tailor anesthesia to meet the needs of each individual patient to maintain the safest procedure possible. We offer a wide variety of surgical services from the most routine to more complicated emergency and orthopedic procedures. We also offer dental services including prophylaxis and polish, extractions and dental radiography.
We offer a wide variety of prescription medications as well as neutraceuticals, flea/tick preventatives, shampoos and supplements. We also carry numerous prescription diets from Hill's Pet Nutrition, Purina and Royal Canin Veterinary Diets. Prescription treats are also available! We even offer an online pharmacy which ships products right to your front door!
We utilize digital radiography. Doctors are able to show pet owners radiographs of their pets on a wide screen monitor or in the exam room from a iPad. We are able to email radiographs to other facilities or we can burn images to a CD for pet owners to take with them.
We have a full service in-house laboratory capable of performing various diagnostics. We also use several "outside" laboratories for more specialized testing depending on the needs of our patients.

We offer microchip implantation to permanently identify patients and their owners. Microchips are roughly the size of a grain of rice and are implanted between the animal's shoulder blades. If your pet is lost, a microchip reader will identify each microchip's serial number. This serial number is traced back to the pet's owner. Lifetime registration is included in the price of microchip implantation.

We provide estimates for all surgeries and hospitalizations. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges.
